Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and driver before beginning the scenic one-and-a-half-hour drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Along the way, enjoy beautiful views of the Paro and Wang Chhu valleys. In the afternoon, visit the Memorial Chorten and the magnificent Buddha Dordenma Statue overlooking the valley. If time permits, take a leisurely stroll through Thimphu’s main street and local craft shops. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast, spend the day exploring Thimphu’s cultural and historical attractions. Visit the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal, followed by the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, where students practice Bhutan’s traditional arts and crafts. Continue to the Folk Heritage Museum and browse local handicraft markets before enjoying an evening at leisure. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha
Drive east over the beautiful Dochula Pass (3,100 m), where 108 memorial chortens and panoramic Himalayan views await on a clear day. Descend into the warmer Punakha Valley to visit the spectacular Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful fortresses, located at the confluence of two rivers. Later, walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge before checking into your hotel. Overnight in Punakha.
Day 4: Punakha – Paro
Visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility, after a pleasant walk through traditional villages and rice fields. Afterwards, drive back to Paro, enjoying the changing landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, visit Rinpung Dzong and stroll through the charming town of Paro. Overnight in Paro.
Day 5: Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike
Today is dedicated to Bhutan’s most iconic landmark, the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang). Enjoy a rewarding hike through pine forests to this spectacular monastery perched dramatically on a cliff 900 metres above the Paro Valley. After exploring the monastery and soaking in the breathtaking scenery, return to Paro for a relaxing evening. Overnight in Paro.
Day 6: Paro Sightseeing
Spend the day discovering Paro’s cultural treasures. Visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in the historic Ta Dzong watchtower, followed by Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples dating back to the 7th century. Enjoy free time for shopping or relaxing at a local café before a farewell dinner. Overnight in Paro.
Day 7: Departure from Paro
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight, taking with you unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s rich culture, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality.
